Prison's of the Mind is a one movement show from the pen of Scott Cuthbert. Opening with a lyrical flute duet followed by a short trumpet solo the piece builds to a climax and then takes off! Moving through a series of mixed meters we explore the inner thoughts of a seemingly disturbed mind. The listener will hear confusion, anger and fear before moving into a calmer state of mind. The work ends with what seems to be more main stream, accepted thoughts but eventually fades into nothing - signifying the loss of outside influences and becoming a prisoner of your own mind.
