An
opportunity awaits for you to explore space and time in Dimensions!
Beginning with the 0 dimension (point) and working your way through
1D (lines), 2D (planes), 3D (volume), and 4D (time) you have the
opportunity to utilize props, equipment and drill that portrays all
of these time and space concepts.
The
1st
movement of Dimensions
begins
with soloists throughout the band playing staccato notes representing
the 0 dimension (point) then quickly moving to the opening statement
that flows into a fugue based on a Bach Choral representing 1D
(line). The 2nd
movement (2D Planes) utilizes the “Little Fugue” G minor – just
enough for your audience to think “I recognize this...but not
really!”. Dimension's 3rd
movement (3D - Volume) begins with a trumpet duet from Bach's “Sheep
May Safely Graze” then quickly moves into a beautiful ballad
allowing for a aural and visual exploration of 3D (Volume). Finally,
Dimensions
closes with 4D (Time) combining Bach's D minor Toccata, the
Westminster Chimes, and the Little Fugue into a high energy, time
bending conclusion.
